The west central Brazil is an area that can be divided into two parts:
The Planalto, formed of savannah area, with a well defined climate in 2 periods, rain and drought, and width the "Mato-grosso-goiano", lowlands from which come the sources of the Tocantins and Araguaia rivers. The village of Pirenópolis is at the limit of these reliefs. The village lies at the foot of Pireneus, part of the division of planalto.

Habitat : Cerrado loose and wet soil Flowering : April to August Description : Grass whose stem is short. It forms clumps. The leaves are light brown more or less long and narrow (1 to 3 mm). The flowering stem is of a length which is 10 to 40 cm in length. The inflorescence is small, the flowers are of elongated ovoid shape, small 1 to 2cm and light brown coloring. The flowers are yellow.
