The National park of the Serra do Cipo is a protected Park (APA - Área de Proteção Ambiental Morro da Pedreira) at the north of the capital of the state of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, and is part of the Cordilheira do Espinhaço (in its southern part).
In recent years, this part of the Serra do Cipo, at the foot of the village of Lapinha is open to tourism. This region of the Serra do Cipo has two peaks, Pico da Lapinha (altitude 1686 meters) and its neighbor, the Pico do Breu barely above.
